Hello, and thank you for viewing my project!
After modeling a few times, I took on a longer and more complicated project. This time, I modeled and animated a logo and two models. I also shot location footage, 3D tracked it, and put my models into the footage. I'm fairly proud of my final product and can't wait to show you my precess, so let's go!
REFERENCE IMAGES & SKETCHES
The purpose of this project was to create a 20 second title sequence for a new show about unique and quirky homes. I thought conversion homes made the most sense so I found a few reference ideas about homes which used to be other things, such as churches, boats, castles, or even fire-stations. After this I came up with a color scheme and logo ideas.
2D & 3D LOGO ANIMATIONS
I chose my logo based on what I could do with animation of all the parts. Once I had that settled, I created a vector graphic in illustrator, and imported it4 into After Effects. From there, I created a 3D model in Cinema 4D by transferring the After Effects animation. Looking back, this workflow was flawed and backwards. I should have jumped straight from illustrator to Cinema 4D, but since this was my first time animating in Cinema 4D, I wasn't comfortable enough to go straight there. This ultimately caused problems in the long run which I had to go back and fix.
INITIAL COMPOSITE
My next steps were to shoot location footage and find audio sources. Once I had these, I edited everything together in AE. Since only my logo was ready, I put together what I had for this shot.
