User Persona and Customer Journey
Like all good projects, this one started with research. I had never done app design, so I started by coming up with a target audience and a user persona to guide my designing. Next, I created a customer journey map to give me a structure onto which I would build my app pages. The overall goal was to create a music streaming app similar to Spotify or Apple Music but which had a more user friendly interface.

User Flow and Branding
The next steps on my journey were to complete a user flow based on the customer journey, and complete branding for the app pages. I personally enjoy the color purple, and feel that it can help bring a calming sensation to mind. My reasoning behind choosing this color was that music streaming apps tend to need to display a lot of information, and the best way to simplify the background elements and let the user focus on the information was to choose a single color.

Lofi Wireframes
Looking back at these almost makes me cringe a bit. I really started out BASIC. My goals were to login, search, browse, and profile. Beyond that at this point I had no thoughts about features, buttons, etc. I simply included what I believed to be the most crucial information.

User testing and feedback
Two major changes made during testing were the placement if settings, and the save button when changing profile information. Both of which are highlighted below.

Final Hifi Wireframes
From my initial wireframes to these, I added a LOT of functionality. Every button that could be clicked on needed to be clicked on. I added redirects for every function of the app, along with new pages and pop ups. With where I started at the loft wireframes, I underwent a huge change, which is why I felt that I didn't do enough at the start of this project. But hey, it turned out well!

Application Use Video
If you're viewing on a computer, I highly recommend viewing in fullscreen mode. Sadly, my cursor did not get recorded in this live capture of the functional prototype, but it does go through every single page that was designed. At the end of this looking back, there are quite a few improvement I could have made, but I am pleased with the overall performance and design of my final product. Thank you for stopping by!
